Amides were synthesized from carboxylic acids and isocyanides under PdII/AgI/base catalytic conditions. The reaction conditions were optimized, and the scope was studied. Various carboxylic acids and aryl isocyanides are compatible with this reaction, but alkyl isocyanides are not.
