Synthesis, characterization and antitumor activity of some arylantimony triphenylgermanylpropionates and crystal structures of Ph3GeCH(Ph)CH2CO2SbPh4 and [Ph3GeCH2CH(CH3)CO2]2Sb(4-ClC6H4)3

A series of novel arylantimony(V) triphenylgermanylpropionates with the formula ((Ph3GeCHRCHRCO2)-C-1-C-2)(n)SbAr(5-n) (R-1 = H, Ph; R-2 =H, CH3; n = 1, 2) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR and mass spectroscopy. The crystal structures of Ph3GeCH(Ph)CH2CO2SbPh4 and [Ph3GeCH2CH(CH3)CO2](2)Sb(4-ClC6H4)(3) were determined by X-ray diffraction. Synthesis, Spectral (FT‐IR, 1H, 13C, 119Sn) and Biological Studies of Bimetallic Trimethyltin(IV) Germapropionates: X‐Ray Structure of (CH3)3Sn(C22H21O2Ge)

New compounds of bimetallic trimethyltin(IV) germapropionates have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR, and multinuclear nmr (H-1,C-13,Sn-119) spectroscopies. These compounds show four-coordinated structure in solution and penta-coordinated structure in solid state. The crystal structure of representative compound, (CH3)(3)Sn(C-22 H-21 O-2 Ge), shows one dimensional polymeric penta-coordinated structure in its solid state. The synthesized compounds were subjected for a bioassay screening and show promising antibacterial and antifungal activities.

Thirteen tris(2-methyl-2-phenylpropyl)tin germylpropionates have been synthesized and their structures characterized by elemental analysis, IR, multinuclear NMR (1H, 13C, 119Sn) and MS spectroscopies. A series of novel arylbismuth(V) triphenylgermylpropionates with the formula Ar3Bi((O2CCHRCHRGePh3)-C-1-Ge-2)(2) (R-1 = H, CH3; R-2 = H, Ph; Ar = Ph, 4-CH3C6H4, 4-FC6H4, 4-ClC6H4, 4-BrC6H4) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, H-1-NMR and mass spectroscopy. The crystal structures of (4-BrC6H4)(3)Bi(O2CCH2CH2GePh3)(2) and (4-BrC6H4)(3)Bi[O2CCH(CH3)CH2GePh3](2) were determined by X-ray diffraction. Three human neoplastic cell lines (HCT-8, Bel-7402 and KB) were used to screen these compounds. The results indicate that some compounds at 5 muM show good in vitro antitumor activities.
