A stable crystalline hydrogen-bonded adduct of dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) and 7-hydroxy-5,6,8-trifluoro-2-carboxychromone has been prepared by the reaction of 2-carboxy-5,6,7,8-tetrafluorochromone with KOH/glycerol in DMSO. It has been found that pentafluorophenol and also 1-cyclohexyl-7-hydroxy-5,6,8-trifluoro-4(1H)-4-oxoquinoline-2-carboxylic acid form the corresponding crystalline hydrogen-bonded
