    A liquid crystal aligning agent contains (1) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of a polyamic acid obtainable by a reaction between a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and a diamine compound and an imidized polymer obtainable by cyclization with dehydration of the polyamic acid; (2) at least one first solvent selected from the group consisting of N-alkyl-2-pyrrolidones, lactones, and 1,3-dialkyl-2-imidazolidinones; (3) at least one second solvent selected from the group consisting of: (a) a first compound represented by general formula (I) wherein R1 is an alkylene group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms; R2 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms an acetyl group or a propionyl group; R3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, an alkoxyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or a halogen atom; a is 1 or 2; and b is 0 or integers of from 1 to 5; and (b) a second compound represented by general formula (II) wherein R4 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R5 is an alkylene group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms; R6 is an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and c is 1 or 2.

    A vulcanizable elastomeric compound and products such as pneumatic tires and the like, are formed from a functionalized polymer having a functional group derived from an anionic polymerization initiator. The anionic polymerization initiator comprises the general formula where R1-R5 are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen; alkyls having from alkyls having from 1 to about 12 carbon atoms; aralkyls having from 7 to about 20 carbon atoms; dialkylaminos having from 2 to about 20 carbon atoms; and, dialkylaminoalkyls having from 3 to about 20 carbon atoms. At least one of R1-R5 is selected from the group consisting of the dialkylaminos and the dialkylaminoalkyls. Methods of the present invention include preparing functionalized polymers and reducing the hysteresis of vulcanizable elastomeric compounds.

    A vulcanizable elastomeric compound and products such as pneumatic tires and the like, are formed from a functionalized polymer having a functional group derived from an anionic polymerization initiator. The anionic polymerization initiator comprises the general formula where R1-R5 are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen; alkyls having from alkyls having from 1 to about 12 carbon atoms; aralkyls having from 7 to about 20 carbon atoms; dialkylaminos having from 2 to about 20 carbon atoms; and, dialkylaminoalkyls having from 3 to about 20 carbon atoms. At least one of R1-R5 is selected from the group consisting of the dialkylaminos and the dialkylaminoalkyls. Methods of the present invention include preparing functionalized polymers and reducing the hysteresis of vulcanizable elastomeric compounds.

    The present invention relates to thienyl substituted acylguanidine derivatives, such as compounds of the formula I, in which R1, R2, R4, R6, A, B und D have the meanings indicated in the claims, their physiologically tolerable salts and their prodrugs. The compounds of the present invention are valuable pharmaceutical active compounds. They are vitronectin receptor antagonists and inhibitors of bone resorption by osteoclasts and are suitable, for example, for the therapy and prophylaxis of diseases which are caused at least partially by an undesired extent of bone resorption, for example of osteoporosis. The invention furthermore relates to processes for the preparation of thienyl substituted acylguanidines, their use, in particular as pharmaceutical active ingredients, and pharmaceutical preparations comprising them.
