  1α, 25-二羟基-26, 27-二甲基维生素D3 (5)、1α, 25-二羟基-26, 27-二乙基维生素D3 (6)、25-羟基-26, 27-二甲基维生素D3 (7) 和1α-羟基-26, 27-二甲基维生素D3 (8)作为1α, 25-二羟基维生素D3 (1) 的二烷基类似物，以3β-羟基-胆酸 (9) 为起始物合成。当在大鼠中测试其增加血清钙浓度的能力时，5的活性略低于1，而6的活性则显著低。化合物8的活性低于1α-羟基维生素D3。在诱导HL-60细胞分化的测试中，5的活性是1的2.5倍，而6是1的12.5倍。

The composition includes hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose.
