  4-Amino-2-chlor-5-cyan-6-(methylthio)pyrimidin wird aus Dicyanketendimethylmercaptal und Cyanamid durch Kondensation in Gegenwart einer Base und anschliessende Cyclisierung in Gegenwart von Chlorwasserstoff hergestellt. Das Dicyanketendimethylmercaptal ist durch Umsetzung von Malonsäurenitril mit Schwefelkohlenstoff und einer Base und anschliessende Methylierung mit Dimethylsulfat zugänglich. Die Reaktionsfolge liefert das Pyrimidinderivat in guter Ausbeute und praktisch frei von Nebenprodukten.

  4-amino-2-chloro-5-cyano-6-(methylthio)pyrimidine 由双氰基乙烯二甲基巯基和氰酰胺在碱存在下缩合，然后在氯化氢存在下环化制备而成。 丙二酸腈与二硫化碳和碱反应，然后与硫酸二甲酯发生甲基化反应，即可得到二氰乙烯二甲基巯基。该反应顺序可产生嘧啶衍生物，产率高且几乎不含副产物。
