    The disclosure relates to a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprising: an acrylic polymer with acrylic acid functional groups; an epoxy-based crosslinking agent at a content of 3 parts per weight or more based on 100 parts per weight of the acrylic polymer; and a UV-absorber at a content of 2 parts per weight or more based on 100 parts per weight of the acrylic polymer. In addition, a surface protection sheet comprising a carrier and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed of the aforementioned pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is described, as well as the use of the aforementioned surface protection sheet for outdoor surface protection. The surface protection sheet exhibits excellent weatherability resistance, adhesion properties on different substrate surfaces, oxidation resistance, advantageous anti-residue properties upon peeling and low surface contaminating properties.

    A pressure sensitive adhesive composition is described, comprising the reaction product of a copolymer and a bisamide crosslinking agent, (A) the copolymer comprising the reaction product of (i) a (meth)acrylate ester of a non-tertiary alcohol in which the alkyl group contains between 1 and 4 carbon atoms, inclusive, and (ii) a carboxylic acid-functional, ethylenically unsaturated co-monomer, and (B) a bisamide crosslinking agent having the formula: 1 where, R 1 and R 3 independently, are selected from the group consisting of H and C n H 2n+1 , n is an integer ranging from 1 to 5, R 2 is a divalent radical selected from the group consisting of benzeno (—C 6 H 4 —), substituted benzeno, triazine, C m H 2m , and combinations thereof, m is an integer ranging from 1 to 10, and the relative amounts of the carboxylic acid-functional, ethylenically unsaturated co-monomer and the bisamide crosslinking agent providing a ratio of the number of equivalents of amide groups to the number of equivalents of carboxylic acid groups of less than about 0.1. Articles made with the pressure sensitive adhesive composition and methods for its use are also described.

    Corrosion-inhibiting pigments based on manganese are described that contain a trivalent or tetravalent manganese/valence stabilizer complex. An inorganic or organic material is used to stabilize the trivalent or tetravalent manganese ion to form a compound that is sparingly soluble, exhibits low solubility, or is insoluble in water, depending upon the intended usage. Specific stabilizers are chosen to control the release rate of trivalent or tetravalent manganese during exposure to water and to tailor the compatibility of the powder when used as a pigment in a chosen binder system. Stabilizers may also modify the processing and handling characteristics of the formed powders. Manganese/valence stabilizer combinations are chosen based on the well-founded principles of manganese coordination chemistry. Many manganese-valence stabilizer combinations are presented that can equal the performance of conventional hexavalent chromium or tetravalent lead systems. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.     A corrosion-inhibiting pigment comprising a rare earth element and a valence stabilizer combinded to form a rare earth/valence stabilizer complex. The rare earth element is selected from cerium, terbium, praseodymium, or a combination thereof, and at least one rare earth element is in the tetravalent oxidation state. An inorganic or organic material is used to stabilize the tetravalent rare earth ion to form a compound that is sparingly soluble in water. Specific stabilizers are chosen to control the release rate of tetravalent cerium, terbium, or praseodymium during exposure to water and to tailor the compatibility of the powder when used as a pigment in a chosen binder system. Many rare earth-valence stabilizer combinations are presented that can equal the performance of conventional hexavalent chromium systems.
