A novel PEPPSI (pyridine enhanced precatalyst preparation stabilization and initiation) typepalladium(II) complex has been synthesized and fully characterized by NMR, HR-MS, as well as elemental analysis. The molecular structure was finally confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction, and it revealed that the pyridyl-armed 1,2,3-triazole ligand is coordinated to the palladium in bidentate fashion

An efficient and convenient procedure for the conversion of pyridineN-oxides to tetrazolopyridines by treatment with 4-toluene sulfonyl chloride and sodium azide in toluene at elevated temperature is described.
