This paper describes the synthesis of functionalised azecine and azonine derivatives incorporating the adrenaline motif. Synthesis of Cyclic Guanidines via Pd-Catalyzed Alkene Carboamination

A new approach to the synthesis of substituted 5-membered cyclic guanidines is described. Palladium-catalyzed alkene carboamination reactions between acyclic N-allyl guanidines and aryl or alkenylhalides provide these products in good yield. This method allows access to a number of different cyclic guanidine derivatives in only two steps from readily available allylic amines.
The activity of a simple, commercially available copper salt, [Cu(NCMe)4](BF4) in intramolecular hydroamination reactions of alkynes and allenes is presented. Reactions were successfully carried out in technical acetonitrile in the presence of air. While attempts of alkene hydroamination failed, this catalysts was also found active in intermolecular aza-Michael reactions.

Adding an aryne to a tertiary allylamine affords o‐allylaniline products of an aza‐Claisenrearrangement. The aryne simultaneously provides the π component for the rearrangement and the quaternization event that lowers the activation energy for the sigmatropic shift. The reaction was applied to the synthesis of medium‐ring benzannulated amines (see scheme).

alkenyl bromides via Pd-catalyzed carboamination reactions is described. The N-allylurea precursors are prepared in one step from readily available allylic amines and isocyanates, and the Pd-catalyzed reactions effect the formation of a C-C bond, a C-N bond, and up to two stereocenters in a single step. Good diastereoselectivities are obtained for the conversion of substrates bearing allylic substituents
