Herein, we report a diaminocyclopentadienone ruthenium tricarbonyl complex-catalyzed synthesis of mono- or dialkylated acyl hydrazide compounds using the borrowing hydrogen strategy in the presence of various substituted primary and secondary alcohols as alkylating reagents.
