Abstract Methyl-3-amino-3-deoxy-α- d , l -lyxopyranoside has been synthesized by formation of the 3-dibenzylenamine derivative from 4-deoxy-1,2- O -isopropylidene-α- d , l - glycero -pentopyranos-3-ulose. Hydroboration, oxidation, methanolysis, and catalytic N -debenzylation gave the title compound identified as its tribenzoyl derivative.
