    An object of the present invention is to provide a paste-type cement composition which while retaining adhesion to tooth substance, biocompatibility, surface curability and fluorine sustained-releasability which are the characteristics derived from the conventional glass ionomer cement, reduces water sensitivity which is shortcoming of the conventional glass ionomer cement, enables simple mixing operation, does not adversely affect on the various properties of a cured cement depending on a difference in operators or a skill degree, and can afford various stable properties. There is provided a two paste-type glass ionomer cement comprising a resin-based paste containing a hydrophobic polymerizable monomer and a polymer of acidic group-containing polymerizable monomers which are insoluble to each other, and a water-based paste containing a hydrophilic polymerizable monomer and water which are soluble to each other, in which an acid reactive filler is contained in at least one of pastes.

    Articles and methods for increasing the triplet upconversion threshold, e.g, by utilizing a heavy atom- functionalized triplet exciton upconverter, are generally described. Some embodiments, for example, are directed to articles and methods that use a triplet sensitizer and a heavy atom- functionalized upconverter to produce upconverted photons (e.g., light of a second energy). The light may be used to polymerize a polymerizable species. Other upconversion configurations can also be used in other embodiments. In some cases, this may allow true 3D printing to be achieved due to improved control of light absorption, e.g., without needing to "print" on a layer- by-layer basis.

    Stable and substantially filled cationic dental compositions are described which include: (1) at least one cationically reactive compound (A); (2) at least one dental filler (B); (3) optionally, at least one dispersant (C) composed of at least one organic polymer or copolymer; (4) at least one cationic photoinitiator (D); and (5) optionally, at least one photosensitizer (E). The organosilicon coupling agent (F) has at least one reactive function (rfA) directly linked to a silicon atom forming after activation of a chemical bond with the dental filler, and at least one reactive function (rfB) not directly linked to a silicon atom, forming after activation, a chemical bond with a reactive function (rfC) of the compound (G).

    Consumer product compositions comprise a water soluble organic photoactivator, an electron acceptor which accepts an electron from the photoactivator when the photoactivator is in a photo-excited state and/or reduced state, and a benefit active precursor which converts into a benefit active agent via electron transfer. The electron acceptor is preferably not covalently linked to the photoactivator. Also disclosed are methods of making a benefit active, comprising exposing the consumer product compositions to light, preferably having a wavelength greater than about 350 nm.
