  Novel urea derivatives are provided which are of the formula wherein R1 is alkenyl or alkynyl; R2 is alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl(C1-C8)alkyl; R3 is hydrogen; R4 is alkyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl or cycloalkyl; or R2 and R3 are joined to form a dimethyleneoxy group; or R3 and R4 are joined and form, together with the attached nitrogen atom, a 5- to 7-membered heterocyclic ring. The novel urea derivatives find use as arthropod repellents either when used alone or in conjunction with an inert carrier.
