  The object of the present patent application are new 2-amino-5-aminomethyl-phenol derivatives of general formula (I) and colorants for oxidative dyeing of keratin fibers, particularly human hair, containing at least one 2-amino-5-aminomethyl-phenol derivative of formula (I) as dye component; wherein R1 denotes a five-membered or a six-membered heterocyclic ring, substituted or unsubstituted, or a physiologically tolerated, watersoluble salt thereof, and wherein R1 is not an unsubstituted 3-pyridinyl ring.
