  Aryl hydrazones have been synthesized in excellent isolated yields (90-96%) in short reaction time (4 min) under ambient conditions in the absence of any added catalyst by the reaction of aryl hydrazines with carbonyl compounds in the ionic liquid 1,3-di-n-butyl imidazolium bromide.
