Herein, an asymmetric organocatalytic aza-Michael addition reaction of ketimines to nitroolefins is presented. The use of 2-hydroxybenzophenone imine improves the enantioselective addition of N-centered nucleophiles to nitroalkenes by means of intramolecular hydrogen bond formation at the imine moiety.
