  We demonstrated a dehydrogenative cross coupling between a benzyl alcohol and C(sp³)–H bond for the construction of a C–O bond. This method reveals a new strategy for the direct use of benzyl alcohols in the synthesis of esters with the use of copper as a catalyst and TBHP as an oxidant.
