  The reaction of the [RuCl2(PPh3)(3)] complex with picolines has been examined. New ruthenium(II) complexes - [RuCl2(C6H7N)(4)] have been obtained and characterized by IR, H-1 NMR and UV-Vis measurements. The crystal structure of the [RuCl2(beta-pic)(4)] complex has been determined. The electronic spectra of the complexes have been calculated by the TDDFT method. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd.
