deborylation–deuteration of arylboronic acids with D2O is reported. The protocol was compatible with a variety of functionalities, including halogen, alkoxy, cyano, sulfonyl, trimethylsilyl, trifluoromethoxy, alkyl, hydroxyl, free acid, amide, and heteroaromatic rings.
