  A skin care composition is useful for augmenting cellular metabolism in skin cells and thereby enhancing the regulation of intracellular signaling. The composition comprises a primer for skin cell mitochondrial function, such as a Krebs cycle intermediate, a precursor of a Krebs cycle intermediate, salts or esters thereof, or combinations thereof. The composition may also include antioxidants for free radical regulation and a pharmaceutically acceptable topical vehicle, such as an emollient base for skin health. A method for stimulating the mitochondrial activity of skin cells comprises administering to the skin of a person in need thereof a composition as described herein.

  [EN] The invention relates to a mixture (a) of fatty acid triglycerides having a slip melting point above 500C, the fatty acid composition of said mixture (a) comprising at least two different fatty acids and comprising from 20 to 95% by weight of saturated fatty acids and 80 to 5% by weight of unsaturated fatty acids, and wherein at least one fatty acid triglyceride (a1 ) from said mixture (a) bears the same saturated fatty acid residue on each position of the glycerol moiety and corresponds to at least 10% by weight of said mixture (a). This mixture is useful in the coating of medical devices to improve bio-compatibility, stability, and drug release.
  [FR] L'invention concerne un mélange (a) de triglycérides d'acides gras ayant un point de fusion par glissement dans un capillaire (= slip melting point =) supérieur à 500 °C, ledit mélange (a) étantcomposé d'au moins deux acides gras différents et comprenant de 20 à 95 % en poids d'acides gras saturés et de 80 à 5 % en poids d'acides gras insaturés. Au moins un triglycéride (a1) d'acides gras du mélange (a) porte le même résidu d'acide gras saturé sur chaque position du fragment glycérol et représente au moins 10 % en poids du mélange (a). Le mélange de l'invention s'avère utile pour enrober des dispositifs médicaux dans le but d'améliorer leur biocompatibilité, leur stabilité et la libération des médicaments.
