Rhcatalysts derived from the phospholane‐phosphite ligand, BOBPHOS (L1 in picture) promote transmetalation of aryl boronic acids more readily than a Rh/BINAP control systems. This leads to some difficult asymmetric arylations becoming feasible for the first time, or for others to operate using much lower excess of aryl boronic acid.

The enantioselective 1,4-addition of 2-(substituted)thienylzinc and 2-furanylzinc reagents has been achieved (up to 99 : 1 er) using a complex derived from [Rh(C2H4)2Cl]2 and Me-DUPHOS.
