Some terpyridyl-based dithienylethenes were synthesized and their structures were confirmed by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The photochromic properties and fluorescence behaviors of these compounds have been measured upon irradiation with UV or visible light in solution.
