An efficient method involving the first use of chiral phosphoric acids as catalysts in the asymmetricMannichreaction of dialkyl diazomethylphosphonates and N-carbamoyl imines is developed. With only 0.1 mol % catalyst 1f, the reaction proceeded smoothly and produced the corresponding β-amino-α-diazophosphonate with up to 97% yield and >99% ee.
The present invention relates to a novel class of paramagnetic ion-based contrast agents of formula (I), wherein a chelating backbone moiety is highly functionalized by the presence of one or more polyhydroxylated chain, that show a pharmacokinetic profile analogous to that of the commonly used T1-general extravascular agents (NSA) but are further characterized by a higher relaxivity.

Polyhydroxylated GdDTPA-derivatives as high relaxivity magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents
Novel GdDTPA-like complexes bearing differently branched, highly hydrophilic, gluconyl moieties were synthesized to obtain high relaxivity agents (∼20 mM−1 s−1 at 25 °C) over a wide range of imaging fields (0.5–3 T).
