Disclosed is a rapid one-step 18F radiolabeling method for biological substrates that contain a specific arene group activated for nucleophilic aromatic substitution with 18F. The method involves reacting a biological substrate having at least one 4-nitro-3-trifluorobenzamide moiety covalently bonded thereto with a 18F anion in the presence of a cryptand. The method of the present invention has one or more advantages: significantly shortens reaction and overall synthesis time; requires low amount of precursor; and provides acceptable yields of high specific activity product. Also disclosed are methods of identifying a cell or population of cells expressing a protein or peptide of interest and methods for diagnosing a disease in a subject. Further disclosed are 18F labeled compounds of formula (I): wherein X, n, R1, R2, and R3 are as described herein.

An electrophoretic particle includes a base particle (particle), a first compound, a second compound, and a third compound bonded to the base particle. The first compound is a polymer having a dispersion portion derived from a first monomer, and a bonding portion derived from a second monomer, and is connected to the base particle at the bonding portion. The second compound includes a non-polar group and a second functional group and is connected to the base particle at the second functional group. A method for modification of pretreated acidic porous material via selective cation exchange using suitable solvent to obtain higher noble metal dispersion is described herein. The solvent system required for cation exchange should have its dielectric constant in the range of 25-45, wherein this solvent property is found to impart significant effect on cation loading and distribution, which in turn defines the stability, dispersion of the noble metals. The catalyst so obtained has higher noble metal dispersion and when used for hydroisomerization reaction, leads to higher selectivity even at significantly high conversion values.
