Abstract Several new ruthenium(II) carbonylcompounds have been prepared by the replacement of chlorine atoms of Ru(CO) 2 (2,2′-bipyridyl or 1,10-phenanthroline)Cl 2 with chelating ligands such as salicylaldehyde, β-diketones, 2-hydroxy aromatic ketones and 8-hydroxyquinoline.
