The present invention relates to hair colouring and hair bleaching compositions comprising a source of carbonate ions, at least one oxidizing agent and a specified gel network thickener system wherein said composition is free of a source of radical scavengers. The compositions surprisingly provide improved hair colourant and bleaching compositions which deliver improved lift, lightening and colour delivery whilst minimizing damage which are easy to manufacture and have long shelf life stability.

The present invention relates to hair colouring and hair bleaching compositions comprising a source of carbonate ions, at least one oxidizing agent and a specified amide surfactant. The compositions surprisingly provide improved hair colourant and bleaching compositions which deliver improved lift, lightening and colour delivery whilst minimizing damage which are easy to manufacture and have long shelf life stability.
The problem of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic composition, which has a moisturizing effect, and whose ability to inhibit hyaluronidase activity is high. According to the present invention, by using one or more substances selected from sulfated cellulose and a salt thereof in combination with polyhydric alcohol, the moisturizing effect of sulfated cellulose and the ability to inhibit hyaluronidase activity can be further improved, and thereby the above-described problem can be solved. In addition, the present invention can provide a cosmetic composition having excellent stability through inclusion of an electrolyte having pH buffering ability.

A method for the quality control of a cosmetic composition changing its electromagnetic spectral properties under application conditions from an initial state to an end state. The composition is subjected to a measurement condition under which the change of electromagnetic spectral properties occurs over time, the change of electromagnetic spectral properties is measured at least at two different points in time, where the electromagnetic spectral properties at an earlier point in time are different from the electromagnetic spectral properties at the later point in time and at least one value of a parameter derivable from the measured change of electromagnetic spectral properties is determined and compared to a control value of the same parameter.
