                                    The direct crossed aldol reaction of two electronically different acetophenone derivatives occurs during the dehydrogenative Si–O coupling of the more reactive component and the hydrosilane. The key intermediate is the corresponding silyl enol ether or, employing a hydroborane, a boron enolate.
