Reaction of the titanium berate zwitterion complex (eta (5)-(C5Me4SiMe2NBu)-Bu-t)Ti(eta (3)-CH3(CH)(3)-CH2B(C6F5)(3)) (1) with carbon monoxide results in the formation of the novel titanium-acyl berate complex( eta (5)-(C5Me4SiMe2NBu)-Bu-t)Ti( eta (3)-CH3(CH)(3)CH2COB(C6F5)(3)) (2) Addition of 1 equiv of PMe3 to 1 results in the loss of B(C6F5)(3) to give (eta (5)-(C5Me4SiMe2NBu)-Bu-t)Ti( 1,3-pentadiene) and Me3P .B(C6F5)(3). Addition of(CH3)(3)CN=C to 1 results in the formation of the isocyanide adduct( eta (5)-(C5Me4SiMe2NBu)-Bu-t)Ti( CNC(CH3)(3))( eta (3)-C5H8B(C6F5)(3)) (3). The X-ray crystal structures of 2 and 3 were determined.
