Synthesis of [Ti(η6-1,3,5-C6H3iPr3)2][BAr4] (Ar = C6H5, p-C6H4F, 3,5-C6H3(CF3)2), the First Titanium(I) Derivatives

The oxidation of Ti(eta(6)-1,3,5-(C6H3Pr3)-Pr-i)(2) with FeCp2[BAr4], Ar = C6H5, p-C6H4F, 3,5-C6H3(CF3)(2), affords good yields of the paramagnetic derivatives of titanium(I), [Ti(eta(6)-1,3,5-(C6H3Pr3)-Pr-i)(2)][BAr4]; these compounds have been characterized by conventional methods, including single-crystal X-ray diffractometry of [Ti(eta(6)-1,3,5-(C6H3Pr3)-Pr-i)(2)][B(p-C6H4F)(4)].
