  ortho-olefinated phenol carbamate, including a ruthenium(II)-catalyzed oxidative olefination of phenol carbamate with acrylates and a rhodium(III)-catalyzed alkyne hydroarylation of phenol carbamate with internal alkynes through direct C–H activation, are reported. Both reactions afford substituted alkenes in a highly regio- and stereoselective manner.
