n-BuLi (2.5 equiv.) in THF at −78°C, followed by an addition of alkylhalides such as allyl, benzyl, and ethyl bromides with stirring for 2 h at room temperature afforded 2-(dialkylamino)-3-(benzotriazol-1-yl)-2H-indazoles (), 3-(benzotriazol- 1-yl)-2H-indazoles (), 2-[(benzotriazol-1-yl)methyl]arylamine (), and 2-[(benzotriazol-1-yl)(alkyl) methyl]arylamine (). Synthesis of 2-benzyl N-substituted anilines via imine condensation–isoaromatization of (E)-2-arylidene-3-cyclohexenones and primary amines
Abstract A catalyst- and additive-free synthesis of 2-benzyl N-substituted anilines from (E)-2-arylidene-3-cyclohexenones and primaryamines has been reported. The reaction proceeds smoothly through a sequential imine condensation–isoaromatization pathway, affording a series of synthetically useful aniline derivatives in acceptable to high yields.
