    The title compounds were prepared by a TiCl4-catalyzed condensation reaction of corresponding quinones with malononitrile. The data of the cyclic voltammogram show that the anion radicals of dipyrazino-TCNQ derivatives are thermodynamically stable. The anion radical salts were isolated.

    Bis(1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene) derivatives were used as active layers of organic field-effect transistors and the relationship between the structure and properties was investigated. A compound containing a dihydronaphthothiadiazole unit as a spacer group and the related heterocyclic compounds exhibited clear p-type transistor performances.

    The present invention provides a novel naphthoquinone derivative preferred as an electron transporting agent and an electrophotographic photosensitive material of high sensitivity which contains a novel naphthoquinone derivative having a general formula (1)    wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent, or an aryl group which may contain a substituent, and R2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may have a substituent, a halogenated alkyl group, an aldehyde, a nitro group or a group (i). The derivative is contained in a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photosensitive material as an electron transporting agent.
