has been established that remote carboxy groups in nucleotidyl-(5′ → N)-β-alanine and -alanylalanine do not affect the mechanism of the cleavage of the phosphoramide center. The situation is different in the case of nucleotidyl-(5′ → Nɛ)-lysine.
