Abstractmagnified imageFrom the soft bodied coral Sarcophyton glaucum collected from the South China Sea two new cembranoids, (7R,8S)‐dihydroxydeepoxy‐ent‐sarcophine (1) and secosarcophinolide (2), together with one known related compound, ent‐sarcophine (3), were isolated. The structures of the new compounds were determined by extensive analysis of their spectroscopic data and chemical correlation. The absolute configuration of 1 was determined by chemical correlation with 3 and by comparison of its optical rotation value with that of its corresponding enantiomer, (7S,8R)‐dihydroxydeepoxysarcophine (5).
