  The synthesis of α-alkenyl α,β-unsaturated ketones using germanium(II) salts is reported. Oxagermacycles derived from α,β-unsaturated ketones with germanium(II) salts and aldehydes can be transformed into α-alkenyl α,β-unsaturated ketones.
