An oxazoline aminoisopropylpyridine (OAP) was designed and synthesized for cobalt-catalyzed asymmetric hydroboration of stericallyhindered styrenes. A unique dual-stereocontrol phenomenon was observed using a rigid OIP·CoCl2 complex or a flexible OAP with CoCl2 as precatalysts, respectively.
