  The charge-transfer (CT) complexes of several substituted 4-([2.2]paracyclophanoyl)amines as donors with tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) and 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyanobenzoquinone (DDQ) as pi-acceptors have been studied spectrophotometrically. The role of the molecular structure of the donors on their Lewis basicities, the site and type of CT interactions are discussed. The thermodynamic properties of some CT complexes as well as the solvent effect on the CT complexation are reported.
