Metal complexes of 2-benzoylpyridine semicarbazone: Spectral, electrochemical and structural studies

semicarbazone (H2BzPS) and its complexes [Cu(H2BzPS)Cl2] (1) and [Zn(H2BzPS)Cl2] (2) have been synthesized and their spectral properties have been studied. The electrochemical behaviour of [Cu(H2BzPS)Cl2] (1) has been investigated. [Cu(H2BzPS)Cl2] (1) crystallizes in the triclinic P-1 space group, a=9.278(1), b=12.848(1), c=13.923(1) A, α=84.54(1), β=71.91(1), γ=85.14(1)°, with two complexes per asymmetric unit
