    Insights into the strong in-vitro anticancer effects for bis(triphenylphosphane)iminium compounds having perchlorate, tetrafluoridoborate and bis(chlorido)argentate anions
    摘要:
    Three new compounds containing the bis(triphenylphosphane)iminium cation (PPN+) with ClO4-, BF4- and [AgCl2](-) as counter anions have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The two derivatives with ClO4- and BF4- were found to be isostructural by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Interestingly, the three compounds show extremely potent antiproliferative effects against the human cancer cell line SKOV3. To gain insights into the possible mechanisms of biological action, several intracellular targets have been considered. Thus, DNA binding has been evaluated, as well as the effects of the compounds on the mitochondria] function. Furthermore, the compounds have been tested as possible inhibitors of the seleno-enzyme thioredoxin reductase. (C) 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Inc.     The complex [TlR3(diox)](diox = 1,4-dioxan) has been prepared by the reaction of TlCl3 with LiR (R = 2,4,6-C6F3H2), or of [NBu4][TlR4] with HBF4(R = C6F5) and subsequent addition of dioxan. The displacement of dioxan by (a) neutral ligands leads to [TlR3L](L = OPPh3, pyridine, PPh3, or Ph2PCH2PPh2); (b) anionic ligands affords Q[TlR3X]Q =[NBu4]+ or [N(PPh3)2]+; X = Cl–, CN–, NO3–, or CF3CO2–}; and

    The covalent radius of AuI is about 0.07 Å smaller than that of AgI . This was determined from the crystal structures of the isostructural complexes [N(PPh3 )][Au(C6 F5 )3 (μ-PPh2 )}2 M] (M=Au (structure shown in the picture), Ag). These mixed AuIII -M phosphides were synthesized from [Au(C6 F5 )3 (PPh2 H)], the first gold complex to contain a secondary phosphane.
