  反式[a2Pt(Hampy)2]X2（a = NH3, 2；a = MeNH2, 3；Hampy = 2-氨基吡啶；X = NO3或ClO4）在水溶液中与过量的[(en)Pd(H2O)2]2+反应，会产生两种缩合产物：(i) 四核PtPd3物种，其中去质子化的“a”配体（μ-NH2、μ-MeNH）和去质子化的2-氨基吡啶（ampy）配体的氨基被两个(en)PdII实体螯合，此外，单个PdII离子（不含en）以近乎线性的方式交叉连接ampy的氨基功能。四个金属离子因此形成钻石状排列，并具有短的（<2.5 Å）Pt→Pd共价键。(ii) 六核Pt2Pd4物种，其中(en)PdII部分仅连接四个ampy配体的氨基，从而形成一个开放的矩形
