Radicalreaction of alkyl iodides with trifluoromethyl phenylsulfonyloximeether 10 and hexamethylditin at 300 nm in benzene afforded the corresponding trifluoromethyl oximeethers 11 in high yields, which were reduced into the 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl amines with lithium aluminium hydride. With AgNO3 as the catalyst, valuable oxime ethers bearing various substituents could be easily obtained. The broad substrate scope, easy accessibility of aliphaticcarboxylicacids, and mild reaction conditions make this strategy immediately applicable to the synthesis
Sulfonyl oxime ethers undergo facile radical substitutions with various amines to yield the corresponding oxime ethers. An efficient arylation of sulfonyl oxime ethers was accomplished under ambient temperature and metal-free conditions, with a wide range of functional group tolerance. Mechanistic investigations indicate that a phenyl radical is involved in the catalytic cycle.
