  Reaction of 1,1,1-tris(isocyanomethyl)ethane (trisNC) (3) with [Os3(CO)10(NCMe)2] gives the tripod-capped cluster [Os3(CO)9(trisNC)] (4), which has been fully characterised by spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic techniques.
