The highly efficienttransamidation of primary amides, phthalimide, urea and thiourea with amines catalyzed by magnetic Fe(OH)3@Fe3O4 nanoparticles is described. This magnetic nanocomposite is able to catalyze transamidation reactions of a wide range of the above-mentioned substrates with amines, generating a new amide bond in moderate to good yields. The catalyst exhibited very good recyclability

A highly efficient procedure for the synthesis of symmetrical thioureas by means of simple condensation of primary amines and carbon disulfide in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride [BMIM][Cl] as a cheap and commercially available ionic liquid is presented. This procedure works for aromatic and aliphatic primary amines and give high to excellent yields of symmetrical thioureas without need for any catalyst or tedious work-up.

An efficient method for the synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical substituted thiourea derivatives by means of simple condensation between available building blocks such Lis airlines and carbon disulfide in aqueous medium is presented. This protocol works smoothly with aliphatic primary amines to afford various di- and trisubstituted thiourea derivatives. The present method is also useful ill synthesizing various substituted 2-mercapto imidazole heterocycles. This method proceeds through a xanthate (amino dithiol deivative) intermediate, unlike isothiocyanate as in all earlier known method.
