A catalyst system based on palladium-1,2-bis-(di-tert-butylphosphinomethyl)benzene (BDTBPMB) shows good activity for the methoxycarbonylation of strongly activated aryl chlorides, like 4-chloromethylbenzoate or 4-chlorocyanobenzene.
