Palladium-catalyzed cocyclotrimerization of allenes with arynes has been developed for selectively synthesizing phenanthrenes. In the presence of [(allyl)PdCl]2 and P(o-tol)3, a variety of allenes, including internal and terminal allenes, underwent the cocyclotrimerization with arynes to afford the corresponding phenanthrenes in moderate to good yields. Allenylketones are employed as coupling partners in palladium‐catalyzed oxidative cross‐coupling reactions with organoboronicacids. This reaction constitutes an efficient methodology for the synthesis of highlysubstitutedfuran derivatives. Palladium‐carbene migratory insertion is proposed as the key step in this transformation.

Under catalysis by Pd0 and Ag2CO3, the reaction of 1,2-allenyl ketones and organic halides in PhMe using Et3N as the base provides a new general access to polysubstituted furans with good to excellent yields.
