This invention relates generally to organic electroluminescent norbornene-silole monomers, poly (norbornene) homopolymers, and poly (norbornene) copolymers containing functionalized aryl and alkyl silole side chains having good host characteristics and solution processability, and to electron transporting and/or hole blocking layers, and light-emitting layers, organic electronic devices and compositions of matter which include these compounds.
