  (EN) The present invention is a polymer latex composition comprising a water-borne polymer latex prepared from a hydroxy-functional acrylic monomer such as 2-hydroxybutyl acrylate or 2-hydroxybutyl methacrylate. The polymer latex composition exhibits surprising low latex viscosity at high solids levels. Coatings made from formulations comprising the polymer latex compositions of the present invention exhibit good durability and weatherability and are, therefore, especially suitable to prepare clearcoats for the automotive industry.(FR) La présente invention est une composition de latex polymère comprenant un latex polymère aqueux préparé à partir d'un monomère acrylique à fonctionnalité hydroxy tel que de l'acrylate d'hydroxybutyle en position 2 ou du méthacrylate d'hydroxybutyle en position 2. La composition de latex polymère présente une viscosité de latex extraordinairement faible à haute teneur en matières solides. Les revêtements obtenus à partir des formulations comprenant les compositions de latex polymère de la présente invention présenent une bonne durabilité et une bonne résistance aux intempéries, et sont, par conséquent, particulièrement adaptés pour préparer des vernis transparents destinés à l'industrie automobile.
