Treatment of [W(C0)(6)] with the hexatertiary phosphine P-2(-Pf)(4) using trimethylamine-N-oxide as the decarbonylation initiator yields the hexaligate hexametallic complex [{W(CO)(5)}(6)P-2(-Pf)(4)] which consists of a hexadentate ligand and six W(CO), groups with each phosphorus atom of the ligand coordinated to a monosubstituted tungsten carbonyl.
