  A quinoxalinone of the formula:-­ or a C₁-C₆ alkyl ester derivative thereof, or a base salt of said acid with a pharmacologically acceptable cation, wherein R is phenyl, hydroxyphenyl, fluoro­phenyl, chlorophenyl, dichlorophenyl, bromophenyl, C₁-C₄ alkylphenyl or C₁-C₄ alkoxyphenyl; and n is one or two.
