Three anthracene derivatives, 9,10-di-m-xyl-yl-anthracene (II), 9,10-bis(4-methylbenzyl)-anthracene (III), and 9,10-bis(2,3.5,6-tetra-methylbenzyl)anthracene (IV), have been synthesized and their ultraviolet and fluorescence spectra measured.
